In Year one this week we have started to learn about the life cycle of a sunflower plant. 

On Monday, we created  our own sunflowers, making sure we included a stem, leaves, petals and disc floret. We decorated the entrance to Year One with all our beautiful sunflowers to make a wonderful welcome into school for everyone!

We also planted our own sunflowers by filling a pot with soil, making a hole and planting a seed. We are going to see how tall our sunflowers can grow before the end of year one!
